Customer leaves bad review after not getting free food
REVENGE is a dish best served with a side of fries … for a burger joint in Blackpool, England at least.
Pastels eatery got its own back on a woman who left a scathing “fake review” after she failed to get a free meal — despite never trying their food.
Becky Farran responded emotionally to a social media post asking customers why they “deserve a free meal” by saying: “This week has been difficult.”
She added: “My dog passed away, my iPhone has completely broke and my car needs a lot of work … free food always helps when I’m skint.”
Less than a day later she replied to her original post to say: “Clearly not dog people … Won’t be trying your place.”
Even though it appears she never tried the food, she left Pastels a one-star review claiming both the service and food were “terrible”.
Pastels weren’t prepared to let it go and immediately responded to what they claim is a “fake review”.
They said: “Because you didn’t get picked [for the free meal], is it appropriate to leave a one-star review which is clearly a lie? You have not tested our food.
“We also have dogs ourselves … We go out of our way and buy dog food and donate it to a lady who feeds homeless dogs around town.”
“Free piece of lettuce for leaving a FAKE review,” the restaurant finished, leaving its many thousands of followers in hysterics.
The review appears to have been deleted and Sun Online could not find Ms Farran for comment.
But Pastels owner Gage Dunstan was left understandably frustrated, telling Sun Online: “It’s just not needed.
“Business is hard enough with people trying to sabotage what we’re doing. We always welcome genuine reviews, however it’s just not fair when they’ve never even been.”
The many people to comment underneath the Facebook post predictably sided with the restaurant, with one calling Ms Farran “dangerous”.
“Just need to smash my phone and maybe I’ll get free food,” joked Stacey Crombie.
Aimee Whetton, who won a free side in the contest, called her a “stupid girl” and applauded Pastels for its food and service.
Previously another furious restaurant owner tore down a customer who moaned about their “lazy” Thai food on Trip Advisor.
And this MasterChef finalist had an incredible response to a bad review about his new restaurant.
