Gold Coast City Council closes Currumbin Rock Pools because of possible contamination
SWIMMING at one of the Gold Coast’s most popular tourist attractions has been banned after results of water testing came back with startling results.
The Gold Coast City Council has closed the Currumbin Rock Pools after water testing revealed possible contamination.
The water contamination potentially was the result of flows from upstream resulting from recent rain.
The rock pools will remain closed for sever days as council performs daily testing to determine the water’s safety.
The Council has urged people not to swim in the waters until further notice and signs have now been installed warning visitors.
