Gold family heirlooms and £13k cash stolen during burglary caught on CCTV
THOUSANDS of pounds in cash and gold jewellery were stolen during a burglary that was caught on CCTV.
Offenders were scared off when victim, Mazhar Khan, returned home with his children from the school run.
The married father-of-three said: “I reversed onto the drive.
“I got my children out the car and went into the house. I noticed that the living room door was open. I walked along the hallway and saw through the kitchen door that the window was open.”
Mr Khan, 42, who works as an electrician, then noticed that the burglar alarm had been ripped off the wall.
He added: “The house was just a mess.
“I had just sold a car and had £13,000 cash in the house, which they have stolen.
“They have also stolen £20,000 worth of gold jewellery that belonged to my wife and has been handed down through our family. When I looked back at the CCTV, I realised they had jumped out of the window when I reversed up the drive.”
Footage shows one of the offenders get out of a black VW outside the property. The car then drives off.
Two other offenders can be seen at the rear of the house, before the third joins them.
After looking through windows at the rear of the property, they force a window with what looks like a screwdriver. All three then enter the property before exiting through a different window carrying a green bag at 4.31pm.
Police have been approached for a statement.
