Roanoke man arrested after robbery at Food Lion | Roanoke
A Roanoke man has been arrested and charged with robbery after he was accused of brandishing a firearm in a Food Lion Tuesday, according to a Roanoke County police news release.
Officers were called to the grocery store in the 4800 block of Hollins Road after they received reports that a man was shoplifting from the store. When Food Lion staff confronted the man, he brandished the weapon and fled.
When police arrived, they spotted a man and took him into custody. A weapon and the stolen property was recovered without incident.
Aaron Petty, 37, was charged with robbery, brandishing a firearm and use or display of a firearm in commission of a felony.
